Of course, one of the perks to buying items at a second-hand store is that I just never know what I am
going to find. That is what draws me to various Goodwill stores across Northeast Ohio!
Here is a list of some items that you may need that you can find at your local Goodwill Akron locations!
Office Electronics
Something I am often surprised with is finding a major brand in the electronics department that is
still in original packaging and with minimal use! On my most recent trip to the Goodwill Twinsburg
location at 501 South Ave, I came across this Canon Pixma Printer which would have been a real
win for me if I was still in the market for printer. There is something so empowering about printing
off images or documents at home and it takes away the drudge of having to go to a Kinkos or a
FedEx to print something needed.
Luggage
If you’re in the market for upgrading your luggage or you’re headed for a trip out, give Goodwill a
try. Mostly, you’ll find the selection usually towards the back of their stores. Sometimes I findnthe
luggage is a part of their versus and bags department. A tip I have that I follow when it comes to
luggage is having something unique about the luggage so that way when it comes out on the
conveyor belt when I’m traveling at the airport, it can be easily spotted.
Retro Furniture
I always love going into a furniture section at any secondhand store! That is truly where so many
gems can live. I just need to upgrade my automobile from a small two-door car to a truck to be
able to acquire more furniture. I love the authentic, real pieces that can come through the donation
doors at Goodwill. I spotted this adorable ottoman rocker and totally fell in love!
New with Tags Items
Don’t threaten me with a good time! Something that gives me added satisfaction is finding items
that have their original tags on them. Especially with being so close to the holiday season where
gift-buying increases in popularity, it can be so exciting to find a gift that has its tags on it that
someone in my family or friends would enjoy I have to admit this added black out with its original
someone in my family or friends would enjoy. I have to admit, this added black out with its original
tags really emptied me and it’s the extra bonus that if it doesn’t work out for me, I can give it to
someone else as a gift.
Wedding Dresses
Now, granted, some styles that I come across I wouldn’t personally wear, but it sort of depends on
the bride. In working in weddings, I have learned that many brides love a antique look, or they want
to mix in modern with traditional attire. Every once in a while, I will come across a promising
wedding dress that has specific styles or cut out that would be a beautiful day of garment. If not
exactly in the market for a wedding dress, Goodwill stores also carry things like white shoes, white
shelves, I’ve even come across beautiful wedding bales. In fact, my Bouquet for my own wedding
in 2020 was something that I had bought from Goodwill! I did add a few embellishments, but I
utilized a great find!
By the way, did you know Goodwill has 17 different locations across this area? Each with different items
and layout.
All in all, I really just want to encourage you to do more treasure finding. Take some time and go through
the aisles of your local Goodwill store and if you’ve been to that one already there are many many more
in this area! Other departments that I love that I spend time in are the houseware’s department, the
framed photos and artwork, and I do love to browse the book selection!
I hope you have a fabulous time!
