TRAINING SPECIALIST—1 FT, Waterloo Facility 

Provide development, organization, and implementation of the employee training programs to support all divisions of the agency. Identify and engage internal and outsourced instructors and recommend other forms of training to suit agency needs. Prepare all training materials and execute training programs to include New Hire Orientation and Retail Training Program. Coordinate and plan annual agency training. Facilitate on boarding process for new hires to include pre-employment testing, background checks, and paperwork assembly/review. Responsible for all aspects of New Hire Orientation to include set up and presentation of material. Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience.  Relevant work experience including some HR is preferred. Microsoft Office proficiency required, experience with Publisher and Adobe InDesign preferred.

Provide direct facility-based assessment and adjustment services. Will assist with administering and interpreting evaluation tools as needed. Prepare written report based on assessment to provide vocational recommendations. Provide counseling and goal development through positive interaction with participants when necessary. Bachelor's degree in counseling or related field required. Previous experience with evaluations/testing preferred. Excellent communication and written skills, basic computer skills required. 

 

CASE MANAGER1 FT, The Job Center

Provide direction to participants on use of tutorials and on-site mentoring and developing an individual employment plan. Provide counseling to workers affected by job loss and/or barriers to employment, assist in identifying skills and vocational goals. Maintain client file and work with program employees and Summit County DJFS staff. Experience with employment and training programs. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience in case management, license in Social Work preferred. 

 

CASE MANAGER, OWF4 FT, The Job Center

EMPLOYER RELATIONS REPRESENTATIVE2 FT, Employment Resource Center

Acts as liaison between the agency and employers in assigned territories. Visits employers to market WIA One-Stop services and solicit job opportunities and employer participation. Maintains employer files, coordinates pre-screening of referrals with Job Placement Specialists in a timely manner. Develops, prepares, and monitors on-the-job training contracts, prepares job order info and logs. Experience with job placement required, degree preferred. Good communication skills.

Utilize community employer contacts to achieve independent participant employment and retention.  Provide leadership and mentoring to participants as well as the support necessary to encourage long term job retention.  Educate employer contacts on participant programs.  Create position matches, referrals, intakes and participant and employer satisfaction.  Develop community-based work adjustment and assessment sites as requested.  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in placement and/or outside sales required.  Valid driver’s license and knowledge of different disabilities and/or social services required.

Assist participants in achieving vocational goals and maintaining self sufficiency by providing Internet job search instruction, making job referrals, providing individual job placement services to those with disabilities, and follow up with employers and participants. Maintain case notes and data entry tracking in Summit County database and department database. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in job placement required.  Valid driver’s license and knowledge of different disabilities and/or social services required.

Must have high school diploma, 3 years previous experience in administrative or clerical work, excellent oral and written communication skills, and be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and database programs.  

 

ASSEMBLER2 On-call, Waterloo Facility

Perform assembly and packing operations for various customers. Perform general light industrial tasks as needed. Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to apply. High school diploma or GED preferred. One year experience in manufacturing environment. Must be able to count accurately and stand for up to 8 hours with breaks.

 

SEWER1 FT, Waterloo Facility

Create assorted products such as safety vests, flags, and laundry bags. Must be able to run single stitch, serger, and industrial sewing machines (walking foot). Must be able to sustain standard levels of production on repetitive tasks. Ability to comprehend directions. 3-5 years experience preferred.

 

BALER, STATE USE 1 PT, Waterloo Facility

Supply bales of textiles to be sold in salvage market and bale cardboard. Must have physician certified disability as defined by the ADA per the requirements of Goodwill's State Use Contracts. Must be capable of operating the bailing machine and lifting up to 50 pounds. Full use of body, capable of carrying, etc. Able to operate counterbalance scale to weight bales.

 

DOCK WORKER1 PT, Waterloo Facility

Load and unload merchandise from trucks and trailers by following company policies and safety procedures to ensure store merchandise service.  Receive shipped  merchandise.  Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with full range of motion, basic math skills,  valid drivers’ license and ability to work in adverse weather conditions required.
