A Rose Project To Provide Prom Dresses For Spring 2022

AKRON, Ohio — February 25, 2022— The Andrea Rose Teodosio Foundation’s “A Rose Project” has helped more than 300 students annually receive homecoming, prom or other occasion dresses at no cost. With prom season on the way, The Andrea Rose Teodosio Foundation and Goodwill will make the collection accessible on Saturday, March 5, from 9am – 3pm at Goodwill’s Service Center.

Youth may gain access to nearly 2,500 garments in the collection as well as a limited number of shoes, jewelry and accessories.  In addition, Goodwill will offer each student an opportunity for a future career assessment to better understand strengths and interests and how those match with potential career paths that may be available.

After March 5, students unable to attend can receive a gift card to purchase a formal/prom dress at any of Goodwill’s Retail Stores or boutique locations in its five-county territory. To request a gift card, visit www.goodwillakron.org/rose or text RoseProject to 91999.

“A Rose Project” was started by a group of Girl Scouts in honor of Andrea Rose Teodosio and her belief in the inner beauty of others,” said Cheryl L. Watkins, vice president, operations & logistics services, Goodwill Industries serving Summit, Portage, Medina, Ashland & Richland Counties. “Goodwill is honored to continue the tradition and excited to support those who wish to take the career assessment and plan their futures.”
