AKRON, Ohio — August 26, 2025 — Goodwill Industries serving Summit, Portage, Medina, Ashland and Richland Counties is pleased to announce the 19th Taste of Vintage gala fundraiser on Thursday, Nov. 6, 2025. In addition, the event will honor Sylvia Trundle, for her dedication to Goodwill and the greater Akron community.
“We are truly looking forward to celebrating Sylvia’s significant positive influence in our community,” said Nancy Ellis McClenaghan, president & CEO of Goodwill Industries serving Summit, Portage, Medina, Ashland and Richland Counties. “As a retired captain of the Akron Police Department’s patrol subdivision, Sylvia has dedicated her career and life to service. She continues to make a lasting impact through her uplifting leadership on the boards of organizations such as the Akron Community Foundation, Cleveland Clinic Akron General, Girls on the Run and Truly Reaching You. She is a long-time supporter of Goodwill and its mission, gracing the runway of the Taste of Vintage fashion show every year since 2012. This year, we are thrilled to celebrate Sylvia again as a model and as our community service honoree! We hope for a sold-out crowd to help us honor Sylvia’s legacy and rally support for Goodwill’s mission of helping individuals prepare for, find and retain employment.”
