AKRON, Ohio — Nov. 9, 2021 — Goodwill Industries serving Summit, Portage, Medina, Ashland and Richland Counties, along with honorees Karen and Doug Lefton, raised nearly $100,000 at its 15th Taste of Vintage gala fundraiser. All net proceeds support Goodwill’s mission to help individuals prepare for, find and retain employment in our community.
The event held on Nov. 4, 2021, was attended by nearly 400 guests and paid tribute to the philanthropic efforts of Karen and Doug Lefton in the greater Akron community. Guests enjoyed silent and live auctions, as well as a showcase of fashions from the 1920s to 1990s from Goodwill’s Vintage Collection.
“We truly are appreciative of the generosity of our guests, many in honor of Karen and Doug,” said Nancy Ellis McClenaghan, president & CEO, Goodwill Industries serving Summit, Portage, Medina, Ashland and Richland Counties. “The support we received ensures Goodwill can continue its work in the community to help individuals prepare for, find and retain employment.”
