MORRISON NAMED GOODWILL’S VICE PRESIDENT, Contract & Logistics Services 
NEW ROLE TO BEGIN EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2012
 

AKRON, Ohio—June 12, 2012— Bringing over 27 years of operations and human resources management and leadership experience with retail, industrial, workforce development and restaurant organizations, Janet Morrison will begin her new role as the Vice President of Contract & Logistics Services for Goodwill Industries of Akron (GIA) effective July 1, 2012. Currently the Director Human Resources for the agency, in her new position. Morrison will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and oversight of GIA’s Contracts & Logistics Services Divisions, including efficiently and effectively leading and facilitating the Industrial Sewing, Assembly, Transportation, Donated Goods, Outlet and Auto Lot Departments’ fulfillment their business line segments of the agency’s strategic plan.

In announcing Morrison as the selection, Nancy Ellis McClenaghan, President & CEO, stated, “We welcome Janet to Goodwill’s executive team. She has a displayed leadership in the agency and we’re looking forward to her continued success in the Contracts & Logistics Divisions.”

Morrison will transition from her most recent role as Director Human Resources, where she has served Goodwill’s human resources, volunteer services and training needs for the past four and one half years.  During her tenure, the role included supporting the agency’s transition to a calendar year review cycle for all team members, leading the annual Day of Strategy & Training, facilitating process improvement events and activities, encouraging summer youth and other community work experience volunteerism, and facilitating agency compliance with various federal, state and local rules related to compensation and benefits.  In addition, Janet possesses significant business and human resources management and leadership experience from her past managerial roles with Lowe’s Home Centers, Boston Market and KFC.

Morrison holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Resources & Business Management from Franklin University in Columbus, Ohio and a Professional Human Resource (PHR) Certification from the HR Certification Institute/Society of Human Resource Management.  Recently, she stepped off of the Akron Area Society of Human Resource Management’s Executive Committee where she had served as in the roles of Secretary and Diversity Committee Chair.
