Spring has sprung and it’s my favorite time to refresh my wardrobe. I love looking at the trends to see how I can reimagine my wardrobe. A lot of the spring trends for 2025 are items you probably already have lurking in your closet. I put together a guide of five spring trends that I’m loving. You can use this the next time you go thrifting or when shopping in your closet.
Plaid
Plaid as a spring trend feels fresh and unexpected. You might think it’s a flashback to the 90s grunge or even the yearly 00s, but this time around it has been hitting the runways with a twist, with fun colorways, unique silhouettes, and shapes. You can even mix your plaids together for an interesting look from bold checks to more classic hues.
Boho
Again, this is not a new trend but a return to bohemian chic style. I’m really excited to pull out all of my boho pieces and accessories. Elements to keep an eye out for with this trend are sheer ruffles, crochet, fringe and suede. Overall, the boho trend focuses on easy delicate layers and ultra feminine vibes.
Western
Now, the western trend does tie into the boho trend. Thanks to the Cowboy Carter tour everyone is adding a little country and western flare to their outfits and wardrobe. Think beyond just the typical cowboy boots and hat. Focus on western elements like suede, fringe turquoise and bold silver accents. And you can’t forget about denim. The classic Levis reimagined into a modern cowboy flare. And if you really want to go bold, add in some cow print.
Suited up
Suits and tailored separates are continuing to make a big impact this season. Think 80s power suit with a strong shoulder. The shape, cut, and fit definitely run the full spectrum. From a perfectly tailored three-piece suit to a loose oversize style that will have you stalking the men’s section on your next Goodwill run. Don’t forget to pull the look together with the right accessories. From Wingtips and loafers to collar pins and ties. And a good fedora will finish off any suiting look.
Maximalist
Vogue is coining this as the let’s go thrifting trend. Finally, our time to shine! Get inspired to play dress up. Layer on all the things and add different style elements that are unexpected. I think it’s the perfect time to pull out those vintage pieces and mix it with your modern favs. Mix prints, patterns, and textures. Don’t be afraid to be bold! It’s the return to true personal style, a unique style that can’t be duplicated.
These are just a few of the trends that I’m excited for this spring. Which ones are you loving? Happy spring and stay thrifty friends.
