FASHION & FOOD TO GET TOP BILLING AT TASTE OF VINTAGE EVENT

ANNUAL FUNDRAISER SET FOR NOVEMBER 15 AT QUAKER STATION

AKRON, Ohio— October 29, 2012— Event chairs Mark and Sue Whitlam invite you to attend a spectacle of vintage fashion and culinary delights at Goodwill Industries’ annual Taste of Vintage benefit to be held Thursday, November 15 at Quaker Station (135 S. Broadway St., Akron) beginning at 6:00 PM. “Please join us in celebrating Goodwill’s 7th Annual Taste of Vintage while honoring Don and Cindy Misheff for their dedicated community service.  Each year this event has grown in popularity through the fun it puts into fundraising.  Along with great auction items and great food, this event has one of the finest fashion shows this side of New York which is presented by WONE and WQMX radio hosts Tim Daugherty and Sue Wilson.  Be sure to attend this truly entertaining fundraiser and gala which supports Goodwill’s mission to help individuals prepare for, find and retain employment”.

Food samplings will be offered by a variety of restaurants and specialty businesses including:  Great Harvest Bread Company & Cabot Creamery, House of Hunan, Little City Caterers, Pearl Coffee Company, Robert J. – Events & Catering, Rock Fresh, Saffron Patch of Akron, Schumacher’s Restaurant  at Quaker Square at the University of Akron, The Bakery at Hattie’s Café, The Stew Pot Kitchen, The West Side Bakery, Tito’s Mexican Grill, University Dining Services at The University of Akron, and West Point Market.

Samples of auction items include a Blimp Ride certificate for two for a flight on The Spirit of Goodyear; a Thomas Arvid limited edition painting including a rare vintage bottle of Cakebread Cellars wine; a Disney Dreams package (a seven-day stay in the Marriott Harbor Lake villa in Orlando, Florida– April 28, 2013–May 5, 2013; with one-day park-hopper passes for four to Walt Disney World Theme Park); one-half carat total weight diamond pendant with necklace from Sterling Jewelers valued at $1,499; a one-night stay in the African Queen Suite at the Kalahari Resort in Sandusky, OH; and much, much more!
