The Bus Pass Program provides immediate transportation assistance to individuals and community agencies, helping residents get to work, training, and essential services. Available in Summit, Medina, Ashland, and Richland counties, this program offers accessible, short-term support when it’s needed most.

The Revolving Auto Loan Program helps individuals overcome one of the biggest barriers to employment: reliable transportation.

Designed for those who may not qualify for traditional financing or who are at risk of predatory lending, the program connects participants with affordable vehicle loans and financial education.

Currently serving residents of Summit, Medina, Ashland, and Richland counties, this innovative program empowers individuals to access employment opportunities, achieve greater independence and drive toward a brighter future.

Applicant Requirements(Required)

 Must be a resident of Summit, Portage, Medina, Ashland or Richland County
 Must demonstrate a need for financing and lack access to traditional auto loan options
 Must not have an active bankruptcy proceeding
 Must not have an active or defaulted auto loan at time of application
 Must be able to provide a down payment equal to one month’s estimated car payment (used to establish the loan account with the lender)

• Individuals that apply will be contacted by a Goodwill team member to proceed with the application process or to be linked with other resources.
• All applicants selected to proceed are required to fully participate in the required financial education / counseling and auto maintenance classes prior to being linked to a financial lending partner. This provided at no cost to the applicant.
• Applicants may be subject to a minimum or maximum credit score.
• Vehicles financed through this program must meet established guidelines. The program cannot be sued to finance motorcycles, commercial-use vehicles, or luxury vehicles. Additionally, vehicles may be subject to limitations on age and mileage based on lender requirements.
• Vehicles sold by a private seller must have a pre-purchase inspection from an approved mechanic or shop.
• Applicants will be required to show proof of employment or other income for a minimum of 6 consecutive months.
• If applicants become unemployed while their loan is being repaid, they are required to notify Goodwill promptly and actively engage in seeking new employment. Goodwill offers a variety of resources and support services to assist in their job search and help maintain program success.
• The Goodwill Industries of Akron Ohio, Inc. does not originate or service auto loans. Applicants who meet program requirements may be referred to established financial lending partners to apply for an auto loan. Goodwill’s lending partners offer loan products with preferred terms designed to support program participants; however, final loan terms, conditions, and approval decisions are determined by the lending institution.
• Program is subject to the availability of loan officers and available funds.
• Completion of an application does not guarantee an auto loan or automobile.
