Goodwill’s Taste of Vintage Event Raised Over $140,000 to Support Mission

AKRON, Ohio — Nov. 12, 2024 — Goodwill Industries serving Summit, Portage, Medina, Ashland and Richland Counties, along with honorees, Corrine & Chuck Tennent, raised over $140,000 at its 18th Taste of Vintage gala fundraiser — a record-breaking achievement. All net proceeds support Goodwill’s mission to help individuals prepare for, find and retain employment in our community.

The event held on Nov. 7, 2024, was attended by over 425 guests and paid tribute to the community leadership efforts of Corrine & Chuck Tennent in the greater Akron area. Guests enjoyed silent and live auctions, as well as a showcase of fashions from the 1950s to 2000s from Goodwill’s Vintage Collection, plus an ensemble inspired by the 18th and 19th century Moors.

“We truly are appreciative of the generosity of our guests, many in honor of Corrine & Chuck and their inspirational work in our community,” said Nancy Ellis McClenaghan, president & CEO, Goodwill Industries serving Summit, Portage, Medina, Ashland and Richland Counties. “The support we received ensures Goodwill can continue its work in its five-county territory to help individuals prepare for, find and retain employment.”
