Iāve said it before and Iāll say it again- I love when I have a friend/family member that feels comfortable enough to thrift me a gift. Like that person is next level for me š
So here are my Top 3 categories that Iām thrifting gifts in this year!
#1 thrift gift: TOYS
All my kids birthdays are in the fall, so by the time Christmas rolls around Iāve gone through their toys during nap time at least 15 times. Iām usually overwhelmed by all the stuff and when I shop for the kids in my extended family Iām always trying to think of the most practical and economical gift that they will enjoy and wonāt make their mom crazy š¤ŖĀ
My 4 year old is OBSESSED with all things ocean- mainly sea creatures and we have discovered the show Octonauts. Since this show is about 10 years old – the toys arenāt really in production anymore. My kid doesnāt even know you can get Octonauts toys. So my radar is up in the Goodwill toy aisle for these sea creature characters. It will be the best surprise for him and will be easy on my wallet!
Other toy ideas to thrift:
- Play kitchens / cozy coupes / tool benches
- dress up clothes (think Halloween clearance rack!)
- Books for your favorite little reader!
#2 thrift gift: HOME DECOR
Iām starting to see a home decor/ fashion trend come through social media- BOWS.
This is nothing earth shattering and I promise youāll live if you donāt get your hands on this yearās hottest velvet bow garland.Ā
But check your local thrift store for rolls of ribbon in festive colors and get creative! (SNEAK PEAK of my December blog post to come š)

#3 thrift gift: WARDROBEĀ

This is just a slim list of things you can be on the hunt for and Goodwill is bursting with these items. With the money you save you can even have the item professionally cleaned – making it the ultimate thrifted gift for the recipient.
