My Personal Spring-Cleaning Results

I’m so inspired by all the great bloggers who write for Goodwill Akron! And when I read all the spring-cleaning posts, I was INSPIRED.

Here are my results!!!

Taylor Sigler made an awesome list of things to declutter, and I got rid of something from almost every category:

  • Popcorn popper I used a handful of times
  • Pots and pans from my wedding shower that needed to be replaced (coating inside was chipping). I replaced it with secondhand stainless steel!!! 🙌🏻
  • Worn-out sheets and pillows!!
  • My living room rug has seen better days. I’ve had a yard sale find replacement waiting in my basement for 6+ months, and while my husband was gone for the afternoon, I swapped them… let’s see how long it takes him to notice 😜
  • Broken kids’ toys and old shoes that I likely would not pass down to younger siblings.
  • Secondhand furniture that has been living rent-free in my basement (random shelves I never put up, rickety side tables)
  • Cookbooks I’ve never used and design books that aren’t my style.

Dina had me asking some thoughtful and intentional questions while “refreshing” my home and the items I keep inside in her Spring Refresh post.

In my closet I made a ‘give to friends pile’ and a ‘resell pile’.

I love passing along items that I once enjoyed but no longer wear when they still have a lot of life left!

Here was my ‘give to friends pile’:

And my ‘resell pile’:

And don’t forget to check out this great post on thrifting storage containers to organize what’s left! 😍

I hope I (and these other great writers!) have sparked the declutter bug in you and you get some enjoyment passing along items or just throwing them away!

Happy Spring {cleaning}!!!

xoxo ~ Taylor
