Do Your Clothes Sit in Wardrobe Purgatory? This Post is for YOU

This shirt isn’t dirty, I only wore it for a few hours without breaking a sweat…

These jeans don’t need to be washed every wear, but I don’t want to forget I already wore them, so I don’t want to hang them back up…

This jacket could use a wash after my next wear, but I will probably forget…

Do any of these situations happen to you??

Samesies. And you know where they end up? On the floor of my closet or on the bench in front of my bed. Not clean but not dirty. It’s….

So, I’m exploring some thrifty solutions to this universal problem today!

Instead of cluttering up that chair in your bedroom – or the floor – or sloppily draping things over your closet racks – try these hacks!

An over the door towel rack. Place a few hangers on the rack and have a spot for your not dirty not clean items so you remember to wear them again soon!

If you have enough room, try a rolling (or stationary) clothing rack. It can be another great storage solution to lay out tomorrow’s outfit and house your wardrobe purgatory items too!

Does your mom or grandma still have a wooden quilt rack in their basement? While displaying quilts in this way is pretty much out, using this type of furniture would be a great and slim storage solution for your not quite ready to wash items.

A valet stand. I thrifted this mid-century modern one about 5 years ago and you can use them for more than just a suit coat. It’s a great way to neatly hang your clothes that can’t go back into the closet yet.

I hope you’ve found this post useful and can be on the hunt for some wardrobe purgatory storage solutions on your next trip to Goodwill!
