A Few Ideas to Mix and Match Holiday Attire for Kids

The holidays are nearing and the fall crisp air is transitioning into cool bitter frost. In celebration of the season’s change, I’ve displayed ways your kids can transition into their holiday attire.

Your local Goodwill has several children’s clothing items from red and green to sparkles and festive graphics.

Below, I’ve described ways to mix and match shirts, sweaters and more!

I love picking flannel shirts from the rack and layering them with boy’s tees — especially graphic tees!

I found these two festive flannels, with shades of red and green, and simply matched them over comfy long-sleeved thermals. Add dark wash denim jeans (I always feel dark denim is “dressier”) and your boy will look both cool and casual for any holiday gathering.

Really, either flannel would look good over either shirt. That’s the beauty of finding pieces that are in the same color palette, so as to mix and match. To spruce up the look, add a leather belt in black or brown and pair each of these looks with nice boots and the outfit is complete!

If sweaters are more their thing, Goodwill has plenty.

I loved this horizontal striped half-zip in multi-holiday shades. It can even be paired with any dark tone dress pant from grey, navy or black.  Perfect and festive for any holiday celebration.

For girls, there’s an abundance of choices to shop through and coordinate together.

I picked this red cotton long sleeved shirt and put it under a sweet embellished cardigan. This combo goes great with this cute ruffled mini-skirt in black. Search for footed leggings in black or grey and some sweet ballet flats and your little angel will be feeling fine and festive!

If your girl would rather opt for pants, I found a pair of the cutest boot-cut style jeans piped with red and black and adorned with dainty red bows — especially good for those colder nights in December.

It wouldn’t be the holidays without festive holiday sweaters! I thought this charcoal grey girls knit adorned with pups was too cute to pass up! I mean, who doesn’t like a furry pup in a Santa hat? The darling large polka dotted leggings were a perfect match for this thrifty find. I don’t know a girl who doesn’t like polka dots!

This sweater would also be just as cute paired with the black mini-skirt — for the girly girl.

So as the weather transitions and the holidays draw near, stop in at your local Goodwill store for cute, festive and warm clothes for your kids.

There’s so much to mix and match. And remember, all kids clothes are only $2.48 per piece. You’ll be saving more than pennies when you shop around!

Happy holidays!
