Current Projects and What I’ve Scored Lately

Hello, thrifty friends, and welcome back to the Thrifted Home Project. We have made a lot of progress in my home renovation. I wanted to update you on my current projects and what I have scored at the thrift lately.

Phase one in our home reno has been completed! I couldn’t be more excited that part of our basement has been finished. Now I have a new sewing space/studio. My kids have a place to play. And my hubby has his space as well (shout-out to him for all of his hard work). This space is doing triple duty. I have already thrifted some things for the space.  The best place to start will be to gather my inspirations. Next, I need to downsize and destash half of my craft supplies to fit into my new space. Here are some inspirations for my sewing studio.

Next, I’ve scored a few awesome home decor items at the thrift. At the Goodwill Twinsburg store, I was over the moon to find a Laura Ashley floral quilt. It has all of my daughter’s favorite colors. I was also able to find the two matching pillow shams. I’m saving this for when my daughter gets her own room after our second phase of renovations.

Sometimes it amazes me how I can think about something and then find it at the thrift store. That happened to me when I found these 2 gold plug-in wall sconces. I found them randomly on a shelf. When I saw them, I instantly knew what they were. I took them to the testing station, and they worked! I think they could be nice on either side of our mantel or on another wall. Lighting like this can be expensive, and I got each of them for $6.55!

Bonus curb finds were 2 rod iron outdoor chairs. I found them on the curb on the way home from dropping off my daughter at school. There is nothing wrong with them. The owner just no longer wanted them. A good power wash and a can of spray paint, and it will be good as new. So that’s the thrifted home project update. I can’t wait to share more projects with you.

Stay thrifty, friends,
