AKRON, Ohio — May 19, 2022 — Goodwill Industries serving Summit, Portage, Medina, Ashland and Richland Counties invites area employers to nominate their outstanding employees for its 21st Annual Employee of Distinction Luncheon on Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2022. This year, guests can participate either in person or virtually. As always, at no cost, area organizations can nominate employees they would like to publicly recognize for their efforts. The keynote speaker at this year’s event is Christine Fowler Mack, superintendent, Akron Public Schools.
“As a service for area organizations to help publicly praise outstanding employees, it is our pleasure to host the 21st Annual Employee of Distinction awards program,” said Nancy Ellis McClenaghan, president & CEO, Goodwill Industries serving Summit, Portage, Medina, Ashland and Richland Counties. “We hope area employers will take advantage of the opportunity to bring their team together and celebrate the amazing work being done in our community. We strive to create a feel-good event where every honoree is recognized for their efforts in going above and beyond for their organization. It’s our hope that many organizations will participate by sharing the stories of their shining stars.”

All honorees are acknowledged during the event, listed in the commemorative program, and in the running to be named one of the top Employees of Distinction (chosen by a panel of independent judges). In addition, all honorees will receive a commemorative gift.
Employers can submit a nomination online at www.goodwillakron.org/EDL now through Aug. 5.
