Finding Jessica’s Thrifted Style with Dina

We’re back at Lakemore for another exciting personal thrift styling session! This time it’s with Jessica who drove an hour from Cleveland to score some great deals at the Goodwill in Akron.

Like most of our style session clients, Jessica occasionally thrift shops but just needed a little guidance and inspiration to style her thrifted finds. Shopping for Jessica was like shopping for myself; she loves prints, bright colors, and pieces that can be worn several different ways. Jessica wears scrubs to work so she jumps at the chance to dress up and look nice.

Jessica has a few formal engagements and holiday events coming up so I kept that in mind as I shopped for her; I made this my main mission!

First, I found a black and white striped dress that we paired with a Gap blazer and black pumps. Jessica is going to add a pair of black tights to this outfit. This look was one of my absolute favorites. She will look like a million bucks in an outfit that cost less than $15 total.

Another favorite of ours was the $4 lace fuchsia pencil skirt. I happen to have the same exact skirt so styling this one was a no brainer! I recommended a black fitted top with a blazer, a denim shirt, striped shirt or even just a basic tee. These are just a few options for a pink lace skirt.

Jessica has had her eye on vests so she was thrilled when we found this faux fur collar vest. We paired it with a simple black long-sleeve tee and jeans. The added embellishments are perfect for the holidays!

Tan topcoats are classic, timeless and very fashionable this season. I always spot tan overcoats at Goodwill locations. Next time you see one, be sure to snag one because at under $10 you seriously won’t find a better deal anywhere else. Jessica can wear hers to any special event this winter. I recommend  heels or wedges with these long overcoats for a sleek, streamlined, classy look. Try wearing it over your shoulders (if it’s not too cold!) to look like a New York Fashion Week style icon!

A few of our other favorites included a military green utility jacket, a fuchsia silk top, brand new printed scarves, and a trench coat.

  • 2 Jackets
  • 1 Long sweater jacket
