We’ve turned the heat on, pulled out the scarves and rushed to buy our pumpkin spiced lattes. Autumn is upon us, which means it’s time to put away the breezy maxi skirts and rethink fashion. There’s no reason why this transition should be an expensive one. My favorite thing to do this time of year is browse through the latest fashion magazines to make a mental list of all the upcoming fall trends, and then visit Goodwill Akron to check these must-haves off my list.
Here’s a list of five things trending this season that I picked up at Goodwill:
Mad About Plaid
My addiction to plaid this season is a bit unhealthy. I just can’t get enough of this print. If you’re not crazy about wearing a lot of plaid, a simple plaid scarf can completely elevate a look. I bought this buffalo plaid scarf for $1 and the J.Crew shirt was only $5.
These are an absolute must-have this season. Chunky sweaters are perfect for layering and can take the place of a jacket before the temperatures really start to drop. Try pairing chunky knits with a slim bottom; skinny jeans or leggings to streamline your frame. There are plenty of cozy knits to choose from at Goodwill, this one was only $5.
This purple hue is the color of the season according to InStyle magazine. Since this is a timeless color, it should be very easy to find a faux leather bag or scarf in this shade. Try pairing this egg plant hue with green, pink, tan or blush. This pashmina scarf was only $1 at Goodwill.
A timeless classic! Trench coats will never go out of style and that’s why they are easy to find at Goodwill. Stock up on the traditional tan shade or add a burst of color to a gloomy day with shades of blue, orange or pink. This trench coat was only $7!
Faux fur scarf
Adding a fake fur scarf to your collection this season will not only keep you warm but will instantly add a touch of elegance to any outfit! This scarf was actually a coat collar but you can find plenty of faux fur scarves at Goodwill.
Happy Fall Thrifting!
