Summer is here, and I’m focusing my attention outside. My porch needs a refresh that won’t break the bank. I put together a list of front porch outdoor finds that I spotted on 2 separate trips to the Streetsboro Goodwill.

Outdoor Lanterns are great for adding some ambient lighting to your porch. Even if you have a small porch like me, you can still fit a few lanterns. I found several styles at Goodwill in different sizes; the larger lanterns can be so expensive full price. You can even customize your lantern by spray painting it a color to match your personal style. Add a flameless outdoor candle and you can have a cozy porch that won’t break the bank.
Wreaths are a dime a dozen at the thrift store. I saw so many pretty floral wreaths. While I was at Goodwill, they wheeled out a new cart with 4 more wreaths on it. Add it to your front door, and it will instantly make your home and porch feel like summer. If you’re feeling crafty, you can DIY one. Goodwill has everything you need from florals to ribbon.
Unique plant stands can be anything you find cool while thrifting. You just have to think outside the box. This wooden stool would make a perfect plant stand. Leave it as is, or you can sand it and give it a fresh stain or paint. Make it weatherproof by adding a clear coat on top.
Planters and pots were in abundance at the Streetsboro Goodwill. They had outdoor planters and indoor planters in every size. A pro-thrifter tip: go often because I went back the next day and saw a set of 3 huge terra cotta planters and a set of 3 black planters and hanging pots. They were under $ 10 each, which is a total steal because planters that can run you upward of $60 to $100 at garden centers
Artificial flowers are a great way to get the look of fresh flowers that will last forever. You can add them to any planter, stuff the bottom of the pot, add floral form and get creative with arranging. The possibilities are endless, and you can find so many realistic flowers at Goodwill.
I hope that you can use this as a guide the next time you go thrifting to refresh your porch. Don’t forget you can always customize your thrift finds to match your personal home decor style.
Happy summer thrifting friends!
