Goodwill Announces 14th Annual Employee of Distinction Award Luncheon

EDLLogoAKRON, Ohio — June 11, 2015 — Goodwill Industries serving Summit, Portage, Medina, Ashland and Richland Counties invites area employers to nominate their outstanding employees for its 14th Annual Employee of Distinction Award Luncheon on Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2015.  At no cost, area businesses can nominate employees they would like to publicly recognize for their efforts. The keynote speaker at this year’s event is Dan Flowers, president & CEO, Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank.

“It is our pleasure to host the Employee of Distinction Awards Luncheon as a service to publicly praise outstanding employees in the area,” said Nancy Ellis McClenaghan, president & CEO, Goodwill Industries serving Summit, Portage, Medina, Ashland and Richland Counties. “It is truly a feel-good event where everyone will leave inspired by each honoree’s story as well as from the information shared from our keynote speaker. We know that recognition is a key part in sustaining employment and it is our hope that more organizations will participate by recognizing their shining stars.”

How To Nominate
All honorees are acknowledged at the event, listed in the commemorative program, and in the running to be named one of the top five Employees of Distinction (chosen by a panel of independent judges). In addition, all honorees will receive two free tickets to a performance at Akron’s historic Civic Theater.

Employers can download the nomination form at http://goodwillakron.org/EDL. Submit a nomination by July 15, and receive a free business card sized ad in the commemorative program and be entered into a drawing to win a membership to the Greater Akron Chamber (current members are not eligible).
