Goodwill Announces 18th Annual Employee of Distinction Award Luncheon

AKRON, Ohio — May 14, 2019 — Goodwill Industries serving Summit, Portage, Medina, Ashland and Richland Counties invites area employers to nominate their outstanding employees for its 18th Annual Employee of Distinction Award Luncheon on Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2019. At no cost, area businesses can nominate employees they would like to publicly recognize for their efforts. The keynote speaker at this year’s event is County of Summit Executive Ilene Shapiro.

“It is our pleasure to host the Employee of Distinction Awards Luncheon as a service to publicly praise outstanding employees in the area,” said Nancy Ellis McClenaghan, president & CEO, Goodwill Industries serving Summit, Portage, Medina, Ashland and Richland Counties. “It is truly a feel-good event where everyone will leave inspired by each honoree’s story as well as from the information shared from our keynote speaker. We know that recognition is a key part in sustaining employment, and it is our hope that more organizations will participate by recognizing their shining stars.”

How To Nominate
All honorees are acknowledged at the event, listed in the commemorative program, and in the running to be named one of the top Employees of Distinction (chosen by a panel of independent judges). In addition, all honorees will receive a commemorative gift.

Employers can submit a nomination online at www.goodwillakron.org/EDL.  Submit a nomination by July 12 and be entered into a special prize drawing.
