Goodwill Announces Promotion of Cheryl Watkins to Vice President, Operations & Logistics

AKRON, Ohio — Oct. 12, 2021 — Goodwill Industries serving Summit, Portage, Medina, Ashland and Richland Counties is pleased to announce the promotion of Cheryl L. Watkins to vice president, operations & logistics. In her new role, Watkins will lead agency operations and logistics including facilities, transportation, attended donation centers, outlet, boutique and e-commerce departments. In addition, she will become a member of the executive management team as well as continue to serve as the agency’s resource navigator.

Watkins joined the agency in January 2013 and most recently was manager of safety, security and IT. Prior to that she held various mission services and operational roles, including serving as an internal ISO auditor as well as Goodwill’s corporate compliance officer.

“Cheryl will continue to share with Goodwill her three plus decades of mission services, retail, construction, staffing and entrepreneurship experiences and her more than a dozen years of leadership experience,” said Nancy Ellis McClenaghan, president & CEO, Goodwill Industries serving Summit, Portage, Medina, Ashland and Richland Counties. “She has led strategic initiatives in many types of businesses and her zeal for lifelong learning is insatiable. We’re looking forward to Cheryl’s continued success as she leads and directs Goodwill’s operations and logistics areas.”

Watkins holds a Master of Education degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from Kent State University, Kent, Ohio, and she is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor. She resides with her family in Canton, Ohio.
