Goodwill Earns 13th Consecutive CARF Three-year Accreditation

AKRON, Ohio — Nov. 25, 2019 — CARF International announced that The Goodwill Industries of Akron, Ohio, Inc., (GIA) has been accredited for a period of three years for its community employment services: job development programs with governance standards applied. The latest accreditation is the 13th consecutive three-year accreditation that the international accrediting body, CARF, has given to GIA serving Summit, Portage, Medina, Ashland and Richland Counties.

This accreditation decision represents the highest level of accreditation that can be given to an organization and shows the organization’s substantial conformance to the CARF standards. An organization receiving a Three-Year Accreditation has put itself through a rigorous peer review process. It has demonstrated to a team of surveyors during an on-site visit its commitment to offering programs and services that are measurable, accountable, and of the highest quality.

“We take pride in our commitment to help individuals prepare for, find and retain employment throughout the five-county area we serve,” said Gregory Morton, vice president, mission services & public relations, Goodwill Industries serving Summit, Portage, Medina, Ashland and Richland Counties.  “We continually strive to improve the services Goodwill offers and the recent CARF accreditation is a result of those efforts.”
