Aah…warm midsummer nights. Fruity vacation cocktails, sunsets along the beach, pool parties,
graduation parties, outdoor concerts and weddings — just a few events we celebrate during the
summer season.
All these anticipated events have a commonality — they require that one special outfit to help us stand
out from a crowd!
Whether it be a flowy floral printed sundress, animal print accessory or a sports jacket and
dress pants, we all want to look and feel our best during summertime galas with the least amount of
effort, of course. 😉
I don’t know about you, but I always found summer attire a bit difficult to shop for — I mean,
aside from basic shorts, tanks and flip flops, it can be overwhelming to find something that feels
comfortable since we tend to reveal a bit more skin. What I mean is, finding the right dress,
capris or cut-out top that flatters my physique without showing too much skin and keeping the
look classy and polished is hard.
A midsummer’s night celebration can be the perfect reason to get dolled-up or look your
studliest, depending on whose shopping. It’s a chance to bring forward that sparkled evening
purse or best pair of light fabric dress pants.
When an invitation arrives for a summertime gala, I tend to get slightly overwhelmed; I’m quickly
bombarded with thoughts of what to wear!
What I love about Goodwill is there’s plenty of clothing options to look through without
feeling stressed. Everything is well-sorted and organized — dress tops, dress pants, jeans and
jackets are all sorted and displayed accordingly. Not to mention, shoes and accessories.
When I think of a midsummer night, flowy fabrics come to mind and even a bit of sparkle seems
suitable to shimmer under the moonlight. Like this ivory sequined camisole for example.
To pair with it, I found the perfect neutral maxi skirt and a couple stand-out accessories, like this
leopard scarf and satin evening bag.
Finally, nude patent leather heels go perfectly without being too overly stated.
For men, I thought this black linen button-up was perfect for any summer evening event and I
love the neutral/sand khaki pant. These pieces are a great contrast and the fabrics are perfect
for any summer night.
A pair of black leather flip flops or sandals would make this handsome outfit seem effortless!
Keep in mind, whether you get invited to a graduation party or poolside cocktail party,
Goodwill is here for you to find a few fun, dressy and even shimmery pieces to make the perfect
outfit come together.
Enjoy picking out the patterns and textures that feel and look the best to you then keep adding to
the look until it all comes together like the couple of examples I styled.
