AGENCY TO PRESENT MISSION NUMBERS AT ANNUAL MEETING &
CELEBRATION OF CHAMPIONS
AKRON, Ohio — Jan. 22, 2019 — In 2018 Goodwill Industries serving Summit, Portage, Medina, Ashland and Richland Counties helped 11,075 individuals through a number of services that offer assistance to people struggling to find employment, including: career exploration and advising; resume and interview preparation; skill identification; work experience opportunities; skills training, as well as job coaching, development and placement. The agency even provides support to local businesses in terms of recruiting, applicant screening and skill assessments. These services are possible through the generous donations of treasures received from more than 457,000 donors and 941,000 Goodwill shoppers that support the mission to help individuals prepare for, find and retain employment. The agency will formally present 2018 service numbers at its Annual Meeting and Celebration of Champions event on Thursday, March 28, 2019.

- Placed 493 individuals in employment
- Provided 311 individuals with valuable training and work experience within Goodwill’s Retail and Contract Services operations, including 235 in work experience and 76 youth program participants
