AGENCY TO PRESENT MISSION NUMBERS
AT ANNUAL MEETING & CELEBRATION OF CHAMPIONS
AKRON, Ohio — Jan. 27, 2017 — In 2016, Goodwill Industries serving Summit, Portage, Medina, Ashland and Richland Counties helped 9,189 individuals through a number of services that offer assistance to people struggling to find employment, including: career exploration and advising; resume and interview preparation; skill identification; work experience opportunities; skills training, as well as job coaching, development and placement. The agency even provides support to local businesses in terms of recruiting, applicant screening and skill assessments. These services are possible through the generous donations of treasures received from nearly 460,000 donors and 960,000 Goodwill shoppers that support the mission to help individuals prepare for, find and retain employment. The agency will formally present 2016 service numbers at its Annual Meeting and Celebration of Champions event on Thursday, March 23, 2017.

- Served 9,189 individuals
- Placed 366 individuals in positions at area businesses
- Provided 312 individuals with valuable training and work experience within Goodwill’s Retail and Contract Services operations, including 207 in work experience programing and 105 youth program participants
