I found this $4 H&M sequin navy skirt at the Goodwill in Wadsworth on a whim. I was driving past it in a terrible storm. I was tired, hungry and my phone’s battery was dead. Despite all of these signs to keep on trucking home, I knew it would be my only opportunity to shop at this location in a while, so I made the brave decision to stop.
I’m so glad I did! I knew this skirt would come in handy around the holidays, especially New Year’s Eve. This is perfect for a semi-casual night out with friends yet still has that festive flair.
There’s something about sequins and plaid that work well together. The contrast in the textures and patterns balance each other out, especial if there’s a common theme. Here, the common theme is the color navy. Since this is a New Year’s Eve outfit, I opted for a pair of fun fuchsia wedges, whereas any other day I would have worn simple flats or wedges.
