Before I head to Goodwill, I usually set a spending limit and challenge myself not to exceed it. It’s always a thrill to see how far I can stretch a small budget. As we welcome the fall season, I realized my closet was lacking a few staples. Since Goodwill is the perfect place to stock up on essential wardrobe pieces, I headed to the State Road location with a $20 budget.
If you’ve read my posts before, you know I’m a firm believer in making the most out of my purchases by buying things that can be worn several different ways. Denim shirts are quite possibly the most versatile piece of clothing you can own. I already have about four outfits in mind for this find!
Buffalo or check plaid and blanket scarves are huge this fall. In fact, blanket scarves have become so popular on Pinterest, they have become known as “the Pinterest scarf.” I find buffalo plaid almost every time I visit Goodwill at a fraction of what it costs at regular retail stores.
I receive the weekly Manager’s Special emails that include a list of specials happening at all of the Goodwill locations. Because of that, I knew State Road was having a 35% special on shoes that day so I made a beeline to the shoe section and found a pair of trendy studded boots for $2! Where else can you score a pair of fall boots in excellent condition for $2?
Cardigans and animal print are also fall staples and are readily available at Goodwill. I scored this designer Lacoste cardigan for $3 after discounts and a leopard print tank for layering for $2. I can wear both of these items for work and play!
All it took was one trip to Goodwill and I’m set with fall essentials. I can’t wait to mix and match these items together and to incorporate them with items I already own. Best part, I was $3 under budget.
